FIRST® POWER UPSM, the 2018 FIRST® Robotics Competition game, includes two alliances of video game characters and their human operators who are trapped in an arcade game. Both alliances are working to defeat the boss in order to escape!

The 2017 FIRST game, STEAMWORKS, invites two alliances to prepare their airships for a long distance race. In this game, teams can acquire points in three different ways. One way is though assembling gears on the airship, which are the two large structures in the middle of each alliance side. Two other ways are through throwing balls, called fuel, into either the low or high portion of the boiler.

Steamworks Game Manual

FIRST STRONGHOLD is played by two alliances of three teams each. Alliances compete against each other
to breach their opponents’ defenses, known as outer works, and capture their tower. They score points by
crossing elements of their opponents’ outer works, scoring boulders in their opponents’ tower goals, and
surrounding and scaling their opponents’ tower itself.
